July birthdays – Yippee for you. I hope this year brings health and happiness to all of our Cozy Mystery Book Club members whose birthday is in July.
We have a splendid July meeting coming up on the 24th. Landis Wade will join us for our meeting to talk about his book, Deadly Declarations. I am looking forward to this meeting. I read his book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It had history, mystery, and a bit of mayhem. What more could a cozy mystery want? Frankly, I was so taken with the description of the Indie retirement community that I looked up retirement communities in the Carolinas. It was fun dreaming of relocating –just for a few days – then back to being practical. I’m including a few photos of Mr. Wade so that you can enjoy. Think of some questions that you might want to ask and forward them to me so that I can forward them to our author.
Don’t forget that our August book choice is Fiona Grace’s Lacey Doyle series, Murder in the Manor. Fiona Grace has written several series. This one should be fun. Then, in September we’re reading The Hippopotamus Pool by Elizabeth Peters and October’s book will be the classic Halloween Party by Agatha Christie.
At our July 24th meeting I’ll announce our contest for the summer. If you’d like to think ahead, it’s for the best first chapter of a cozy mystery that uses our winning first paragraph (which incorporated our winning first sentence). This should cure all August doldrums!!!!
If you haven’t joined us for a monthly meeting, please do. We have a lot of fun on Zoom and talk about the book as well as chit chatting about other common interests.
